Elementor Pro counts every WordPress site it's activated on against your licence limit, but it doesn't count staging and development addresses. Any address ending in .dev is on Elementor's exempt list, so a staging site on wsite.dev runs Elementor Pro without using one of your activations.
Staging sites on wordifysites.com aren't on that list, so Elementor counts them as a separate site.
Create a staging site on wsite.dev
You choose the domain when you create the staging site. An existing staging site can't be moved to a new domain, so if your current staging site is on wordifysites.com, create a new one.
Open your site, then under Workflow select Staging.
Click Create Staging.
Next to Domain Label, open the domain menu and select wsite.dev. It may already be selected.
Check the address under the field. It should read your-label-stg.wsite.dev.
Click Create Staging Site.
Console copies your site's files, database, and configuration. This takes a few minutes, and the status shows Setting up while it runs.
You can have up to two staging sites per live site. If you already have two, delete the one you no longer need before creating the new one.
Connect Elementor Pro on the staging site
Your staging site is a copy of your live site, so it starts out holding your live site's licence connection. Reconnect it once so Elementor registers the staging address:
Log in to WordPress on the staging site.
Go to Elementor > License.
Click Disconnect.
If the licence doesn't show as active, click Connect & Activate and sign in to your Elementor account if asked.
Your licence shows as active on the staging site. Because the address ends in .dev, the staging site doesn't count as an activation in your My Elementor dashboard, and your live site's licence stays active.
Pushing changes to your live site
Push and pull work the same way on a wsite.dev staging site as on any other staging site. After a push, open Elementor > License on your live site to confirm the licence still shows as active.
Troubleshooting
My staging site is on wordifysites.com. Elementor counts it as a separate site. Create a new staging site on wsite.dev as described above, then delete the old one.
I can't see a domain menu on the Create Staging form. Contact us and we'll check your account.
