How do I monitor bulk task progress?

Whenever you run a bulk action in Manage — like updating plugins or installing a theme — you can track its progress on the Tasks page.

Whenever you run a bulk action in Manage — like updating plugins or installing a theme — you can track its progress on the Tasks page.

Each task group shows:

  • Operation — What the action is (e.g., "Update Plugins", "Update WordPress").

  • Status — Color-coded: blue for In Progress, green for Completed, red for Failed, gray for Queued.

  • Progress — A visual bar showing completed (green) and failed (red) tasks, with a counter like "5/10 completed."

  • Created at — When the task was started.

Click the expand arrow to see individual site results within each task group, including any error messages for failed tasks.

Filter tasks using the buttons at the top:

  1. All — Shows every task group.

  2. Active — Shows only Queued or In Progress tasks.

  3. Completed — Shows only finished tasks.

  4. Failed — Shows only tasks that encountered errors.

Tip: Look for the green badge on the Tasks menu item in the sidebar — it shows the number of currently active tasks.
